The 7 most Instagrammable Places in Irish Golf

There are so many great places in Ireland to play golf. These are full of amazing spots for Instagram pictures. If you're looking for great holes, lighthouses, mountains, dunes, beaches, the Atlantic and amazing memories these places will have you covered.

The first tee at Portstewart, fantastic views of the duneland ahead as well as the Atlantic to your right.

The ruins of the Abbey at Adare Manor GC, next to the Adare Golf Resort is the older Adare Manor GC, a number of the holes wind around the ruins of the Abbey with fantastic photo opportunities!

The par 3 5th "The Dell" at Lahinch. Famous for being a blind par 3 where the green settles between two dunes. A white rock on the dune signals where the flag is, hit over the rock and wait in anticipation as you walk to the green to find out where your ball ended up!

Insider Tip: Camp out by the hole during the annual South of Ireland Championship and watch all the different shots attempted as the competitors come through.

The par 5 11th 'Tranquillity' at Waterville Golf Links. The name of the hole describes it perfectly.

The par 4 11th at Ballybunion. Golf Magazine included it in their 18 best holes in the world.

Insider Tip: Take a photo of the 11th from the 8th tee, the elevated tee gives a great view of the hole.

The lighthouse at Old Head Golf Links. This photo is taken of the 4th hole from the back of the 6th tee. Other great locations to take a photo of the lighthouse include the clubhouse veranda and from the 17th.

Insider tip: There's some many other great locations to take photos on the Old Head peninsula you might forget you're playing golf!

The 9th at Royal County Down, with the Mountains of Mourne in the distance. One of the best views in world golf on one of the best courses in the world.

18 Holes at Cork GC

Cork Golf Club is my home course and I have taken many photos there down through the years. Here's a selection from them, 18 photos, one for each hole.

A little bit about the course. The club was formed in 1888 and moved to its current site in Little Island Cork not so long afterwards. The club is in an old abandoned quarry alongside the estuary of the River Lee. Alister MacKenzie of Augusta National, Cypress Point and Royal Melbourne fame redesigned the course in 1924 and his redesign forms the basis of the course we play today.

The club has been host to all the big Irish Golf Championships including the Irish Open and Irish Close down through the years. Many famous golfers including Jimmy Bruen, Denis O'Sullivan and Claire Coughlan have had Cork GC as their home club.

The limestone base of the course makes it free draining giving great turf conditions throughout the year.
